THE 20th Talk Money Speech Contest has delivered its 2015 winners and Vryheid’s Sanele Mkhwanazi was part of the top 10.

The Final round where 12 district finalists battled it out, took place at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre on Friday, October 23.

The competition was initially started as a means to address the general public’s lack of knowledge about financial products and to start financial education while children are still at school.

Filidi High School’s Sanele Mkhwanazi made it into the top 10 students who took part in the finals and impressed the judges.

The competition has been designed to encourage careers in finance and in financial planning and entrepreneurship in particular.

At the same time it promotes financial literacy in schools and creates awareness of consumer rights and available support, integrating theory and practice as an important principle of the National Curriculum Statement.

Well done to Sanele for flying not only the AbaQulusi, but also the Zululand flag high.
