Police have arrested three men linked to a business robbery in the Mondlo area.

Police made the arrests yesterday.

The members followed up information that led to the arrest of three suspects in their area. An unlicensed 9mm pistol suspected to be used in robberies was found.

A cellphone suspected to be stolen during the robbery was recovered from the suspects. A recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic tests to establish if it was used in any other crimes in the country.

The KwaZulu-Natal provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni welcomes the arrest made by the Mondlo police.

“The detectives will investigate and establish if the arrested suspects are not wanted for other crimes where shops owned by foreigners are being targeted. The arrested suspects aged between 18 and 19 years will appear in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court  facing business robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” she said.
