UPDATE: Nardini nuns unharmed in heist
One of the sisters who was attacked established that the blood at the scene was a result of scratches from the broken glass when the window was smashed.
Despite enduring a rather harrowing ordeal at the hands of armed robbers on Wednesday, both sisters who were attacked at Nardini Convent have been confirmed uninjured.
According to one of the victims of the robbery, they had already parked their vehicle in the garage when the silver-grey Hyundai drove up onto the sidewalk and the two armed assailants approached, guns drawn and pointed at them.
It was further confirmed that the robbers did not physically assault the two nuns. One of the sisters who was attacked established that the blood at the scene was a result of scratches from the broken glass when the window was smashed.
Quick thinking from the victims led to the incident being reported to local SAPS immediately and the chase ensued, leading to the subsequent tracking of the vehicle.
Although somewhat shaken following the incident, both sisters, strong in their faith, are thankful for their safety and would also like to thank the authorities and the community for their support.
Suspects are still at large.
