A scene described by witnesses as ‘awful and terrible’ has shocked Sithembile, Glencoe.

A man was stabbed multiple times when an intruder broke into the Vikelani Street house, where he was sleeping in late last night.

The victim, Sifiso Mthethwa – who he is thought to have been around 30 years old – woke up when the knifeman entered his home through the kitchen window.

He demanded money and when he was told that there was no money in the house, the man attacked Mr Mthethwa and stabbed him multiple times before fleeing.

Mr Mthethwa  died shortly afterwards.

The woman was not injured but is said to be traumatised.

Glencoe detectives have launched a manhunt.
