Stop at this manhole

THE LAZINESS of some of the AbaQulusi Municipal workers knows no bounds.

This manhole in Boeren Street caved in and is still crumbling slab by slab, and instead of fixing it a stop sign was merely put in it.

Was it a queer attempt at being humorous? An urge for community members to stop and have a look? Or a ‘we couldn’t care less, here’s a stop sign.’

Whatever the reason, the manhole continues to crumble and is a danger to those who might be walking on this particular pavement, especially at night.
