Schoolchildren run over: driver’s blood samples sent for analysis
Police then did a breathalyzer test which showed that he was sober.

Blood samples have been taken from the driver, who knocked over three schoolchildren yesterday, on the Dundee/Vryheid road in the vicinity of Dundee Secondary.
Angry community members, who believed the driver intentionally knocked over the children, accused him of being drunk. At one stage they threatened to set his car on fire. However, traffic police intervened.
Police then did a breathalyser test which showed that he was sober.
However, upon searching the vehicle, police found three syringes and injection needles as well as three small bottles of other ‘medicines.’
The three learners, all from Ethangeni School, were rushed to hospital. One is in Madadeni Hospital after suffering serious leg fractures while the others are in Dundee Hospital.
