UPDATE: Waterless areas may expect supply by this afternoon

Staff is on site in Canna Avenue where they are awaiting the delivery of parts, which is on its way from Durban.

Households and businesses operating in Canna Avenue and Bangladesh in Forderville are currently experiencing a water cut.

Speaking about the latest water cut that affected these areas since yesterday afternoon, Uthukela District Municipality’s Communication Manager Jabulani Mkhonza, says that staff is on site in Canna Avenue where they are awaiting the delivery of parts, which is on its way from Durban.

“Our staff are there and waiting to install the parts as soon as they arrive. We are hoping that all the affected households will receive water by this afternoon,” commented Mr Mkhonza.

He reiterated that the water interruptions are as a result of the decision taken by the Water and Sanitation Department to fit smaller 300mm pipes at the Archie Rodell Water Works.

For some residents it’s been more than ten days without running water.
