Pronto celebrates 25 years

A business that will stand the test of time!

This formula has been pivotal to the success Nils Manson-Kullin and Kevin Halsted who have run Pronto Communications for 25 years.

The business was initiated in April 1991 after the two visionaries, who had been working at the local post office as telephone technicians, decided to become independent businessmen.

“We just saw the niche in the market and decided to take that leap of faith, and 25 years later we’re still here, so things must have went well,” said Nils with a chuckle.

The businessmen say that they were lucky to have gotten to know most of the people who became clients, while working at the Post Office.

“We have clients from here in Vryheid, and all the way up to Johannesburg,” said Nils.

According to Nils, one of their most important milestones is that they were the first company to sell cellphones in Vryheid.

They were also the first to sell DSTV and do installations.

As part of a company called Goldtel Solutions, which specialises with telephone systems, the company’s biggest milestone was selling the Ericson MG system.

Their very first success with this system was being able to sell two systems to the mining company Slater Coal in Dundee.

“We provided them with a network solution that worked between their head offices and the actual mine, which is 40km away, in 2012,” said Nils.

“We sell great service to our clients and that’s the only difference between us and other companies that offer the same services,” said these businessmen.

Nils and Kevin say that they have built good and strong friendships with their clients, who have continued to teach them the importance of honesty and integrity throughout the years.

“We would like to thank all our clients for their support and loyalty. 25 years in this, and I still haven’t won the Lotto!” joked Nils.

Lotto or not, the business has stood strong for 25 long years and the owners hope for many more years of providing telephone systems, business grade internet, satellite, data and telephone systems, selling telephones, cordless phones and providing consultations for telephone systems.
