Fire Department pays a visit to Arbor Park Primary School
The Grade Rs could hardly contain their excitement when the fire engine entered the school grounds.
The Newcastle Fire Department paid a visit to Arbor Park Primary School on May 26.
The Grade Rs could hardly contain their excitement when the fire engine entered the school grounds.
Firefighters, Anushka Degenaar, Bongani Ngubeni, Stefanus Viviers and Jabu Mazibuko taught the pupils about the dangers of playing with fire,
and showed them how the fire truck and the emergency equipment were operated.
The pupils also learned what to do if their clothes ever caught fire, and they practised how to stop, drop and roll to extinguish the flames.
Learning emergency numbers, was also on the programme.

The school and pupils thanked the firefighters for the educational demonstration, as well as the excitement they brought to the day’s learning.
