A pall of black smoke is billowing up this afternoon from near the old Consol village.  The area is inaccessible by vehicle as it is fenced off following the moving of the old Talana graveyard to the Museum area some years ago.

The black smoke indicates that the material burning is probably either old tyres or plastic.  There is presently no sign of any law enforcement in the area.
