Cutting for CANSA – Bold youngster makes a huge sacrifice

The six-year-old donated 30 centimetres of her gorgeous hair last week, intent on CANSA using her locks to create wigs for patients.

When it comes to bravery and compassion, Linieke Stoop is far beyond her years. The six-year-old donated 30 centimetres of her gorgeous hair last week, intent on CANSA using her locks to create wigs for patients.

In this way, Linieke hopes to give cancer victims back their confidence. “She wants to inspire other children, and hopes other parents will help them follow the same example,” explained her mother, who requested anonymity.

Her daughter was inspired by a relative, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

On Thursday, it was revealed Linieke has never had a full haircut, and at the time of her hair donation at Studio Elle, could gather a ponytail over 30 centimetres in length.

After the hair was cut, Linieke’s mother expressed pride at this compassionate act.

“My hair feels light and lekker,” concluded a shy Linieke.
