First known victim of Ruby Gailey death traps?
It could have been so much worse...

It was a normal morning; nothing sinister about it at all…
But commuters travelling along Ruby Gailey Drive sensed trouble in the air. And then it happened… A split second after a taxi crossed one of the enormous speed humps placed deviously high along the road, the taxi rolled back and gently nudged a car behind it.
A few thousand rands worth of damage to the car and hardly a scratch to the taxi tow bar later, this tiny fender bender illustrates the “don’t care attitude” of the municipality.
With countless complaints and traffic reduced to a snail’s pace every morning, the speed humps win again.
While this is only a fender bender, it will not be long before a major accident is caused by what are clearly illegally high speed humps. Despite numerous requests, nobody at the municipality seems to want to take ownership of being responsible for placing the speed humps or in fact doing the right thing and reducing their size!
