The K9 Unit Display Group put on a demonstration at the Ladysmith Show on Friday and Saturday.
The team of dog handlers showed just how well trained their dogs are.
The display started off with a salute, which was then followed by the South African National Anthem. The handlers and their dogs were then introduced, before making their way to the designated area for the demonstration.
Some dogs are used to sniff out money, drugs and endangered species, while others ‘take down’ suspects, walk on tight ropes and even spell words!
The crowd was blown away by the ‘spelling of words’ display, with children guessing which word the dog was going to spell.
The show ended with the Dogs’ Prayer, paying tribute to officers and dogs who have passed away.
