Prominent businessman dies due to illness

Unjabs is described by friends, colleagues and family as a people's person who was always there to help others

A prominent Ladysmith businessman passed away last night (Monday) in hospital after a short, unspecified illness.

35-year-old Cde Njabulo ‘Mlilo’ Hadebe, known to many as “Unjabs”, was in critical condition in hospital after suffering complications due to an existing condition.

He died at Ladysmith Provincial Hospital.

Social media was abuzz when news broke of his death. Unjabs is described by friends, colleagues and family as a people’s person who was always there to help others.

He was a loyal member of the ANC, serving as former Sub-Regional Treasurer. From a young age, he was a leading businessman in town, with a wide variety of business interests.

Unjabs survived an attempted hijacking last year.

He leaves behind his wife, three children and siblings.
