Fire brigade’s swift response douses flash fire at Dundee house
'These guys from the fire brigade were absolutely brilliant'

Rapid response from the Endumeni Fire Brigade prevented further tragedy in Dundee at a Riley Street house last night.
A gas heater caught on fire in the home of James and Annie Miller. Annie called neighbour and Courier freelancer, Johann Hamman, for assistance at around 8.30pm.
“By the time I got to James’ house the fire-fighters were already there. A response time of less than five minutes even after I had to explain where the fire was. The guys quickly doused the flames that had engulfed the heater which at this stage had been dragged outside by James and Annie,” Johann said.

Johann said there ‘were huge flames shooting out from the heater which the fire brigade dealt with rapidly.
“This was absolutely brilliant, and we had the honour of seeing heroes at work tonight. Thank you guys, you were outstanding.”
The Millers also expressed their thanks and Annie commented that the only damage inside was a bit of soot from the heater fire. The Millers were off to bed and were closing the gas regulator when the heater caught on fire.
