The Hooked on Books team visits Drakensview Primary School annually and is always a hit with the learners.

Their aim is to promote reading among children. Their slogan, “If you think reading is boring, you’re doing it wrong” says it all.

After the shows there were many children wanting to rush off to the library to find the books from which the book-trailers had been dramatised. The children and even some teachers were called up to help the actors dramatise their stories.

Young and old enjoyed the selected books. What better way to send the message to our children that reading is better than television.
