Excitement is building up for Natasha and Kendall
Family, friends and the support of the community have helped the duo get close to their target, but they are short of R13 000
Natasha Rivalland and Kendall Hodgson will soon have the honour of being present at a World Youth Day celebration in Poland. The women, who are part of St John’s Roman Catholic Church in Estcourt, will be jetting off in July.
With just a few days left, their excitement levels are rocketing but, there is still a lot to do until then. Since the announcement of the trip for the pilgrimage, Natasha and Kendall have been raising funds for the essentials they need.
To date the pair have hosted a parish dinner, jumble sales, a cake sale, a raffle and with the assistance of Sherlene Gericke, a fundraising market. Family, friends and the support of the community have helped the duo get close to their target, but they are short of R13 000.
The pair still host cake sales and sell raffle tickets to raise the outstanding amount. “As the time draws near for us to leave, I am quite nervous and excited.
“It’s going to be such a great opportunity to meet new people who share my faith,” said Kendall.
Natasha said: “I am also nervous and excited. I’m looking forward to learning new things, making friends and having lots of fun.”
“Thank you to everyone who played a role in raising funds for the trip, it is much appreciated,” said the two in unison.
