On Friday, June 10 Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) worldwide marked 81 years of existence.

AA branches around the globe commemorated the day by part taking in various public awareness programmes. 81 years ago in Ohio on June 10, two men, both ‘hopeless’ began a programme of recovery that has helped millions get sober to date, which started with an unplanned meeting.

Members of the Estcourt branch were treated to a trip to Wagendrift Dam, where they shared their experiences, strength and hope with each other over a scrumptious serving of lunch.

Members got the opportunity to reflect on the quality and blessing of their sobriety. In a relaxing atmosphere and a scenic venue; the day was enjoyed by all.
