Update on Allen Street head-on collision
Fire and Rescue Department use Jaws of Life to free motorist.
NEWCASTLE – bakkie and car were involved in a collision on Allen Street, towards RTI.
The driver of the bakkie was attended to by emergency services on scene and transported to hospital.
The driver of the car was trapped in his vehicle, and the Fire and Rescue Department used the Jaws of Life to cut the car’s door to gain access to the man.
He was stabilised on scene and transported to the Private Hospital for further medical treatment.
The left lane towards Newcastle was obstructed for over an hour, while the traffic department assisted in controlling traffic.
