3 things to do with your kids on a cold day

Ideas to help keep your kids busy during this freezing cold weather

As you already know, Ladysmith is experiencing icy-cold weather today (Saturday).

It is predicted that this weather will continue for the whole weekend. Many moms out there are trying their best to cope with their kids indoors and not let them play outside because of the cold.

Here are 3 ideas that you, as a parent, can implement to keep your kids busy during the cold spell:

1. Create fun crafts. It’s (almost) the best way to spend cold-as-ice afternoons. Cut mittens out of doilies and string them up with yarn; and grab glitter and printer paper for homemade snowflakes (in the absence of real snow).

2. Clean out the toy box. Get your kids involved by telling them to clean out their toy box and donate old toys to a charity organisation. This will keep them busy for hours.

3. Movies. Let them watch movies. This will keep them occupied under a warm blanket, with a cup of hot chocolate, for hours on end.
