Arnold Goettsch is back home following the horrific shooting at Wild Duck Vlei farm two weeks ago.
Arnold enjoyed supper with his family last week after undergoing surgery at Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban. He suffered gunshot wounds to the face, back and in the collar bone.
Dorothea Goettsch said the family all had dinner around the kitchen table ‘and let me tell you it was an exuberant occasion’!
“As joyous as Arnold is about being home, he is absolutely exhausted, so I am going ask that you please give him time to recover. He says he will make an announcement on Facebook as soon he is ready to have visitors.”
To celebrate Arnold’s recovery ‘here will be a special service in thanksgiving to the Lord for sparing Arnold Goettsch on Sunday, July 10, from 10am at St Margaret’s Presbyterian Church in Dannhauser. All welcome!
Arnold was shot four times when armed men attacked the farmhouse on the night of June 20. His brother, Alko, was shot in the leg and their sisters tied up and assaulted after the men demanded money. Arnold’s Hi Lux bakkie that was stolen by men was later recovered in the Msinga area.
A manhunt continues for the armed robbers.
