Costly burst water pipe in Limit Hill
"With the water-shedding that has come into effect, the town of Ladysmith cannot afford to have burst water pipes"
Given that Ladysmith has been experiencing water shortages, a concerned resident of Limit Hill has complained about a water pipe that has been leaking next to his house for some time now.
“With the water-shedding that has come into effect, the town of Ladysmith cannot afford to have burst water pipes. uThukela should be fixing them promptly every time a burst occurs,” said the resident.
He also stated that the leak has been costly to him personally, as it damages the walls around his property.
uThukela was contacted and said they would deal with the matter immediately.
Due to the water crisis Ladysmith is facing, uThukela is enforcing a water-shedding schedule.
As from today (Thursday), the pumps will be switched on between 4pm and 9pm daily (times are subject to change).
