Furious about overgrown grass and dumping

Residents of Rose Terrace, Acaciavale, are furious about the state of a vacant piece of land that belongs to Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality.
The grass is overgrown and illegal dumping takes place. This is evidently an ongoing problem.
According to those living in the area, bin bags filled with refuse are thrown everywhere on the open veld.
Residents say they have phoned the municipality on numerous occasions to address the problem, but nothing has been done. “I am so tired of driving past and seeing this terrible mess,” said one frustrated resident.
Not only that, but roaming cattle and other livestock are also a huge problem. They destroy plants and their faeces are often found in people’s front yards, as well as in the road. People fear for their lives as well, because they say criminals prowl in the overgrown grass and plan their next home invasion.
“I feel very unsafe walking in the afternoon, because you never know who is in the veld ready to attack,” added another frightened resident. This vacant land has been in the area for years now and people are tired of nothing being done about their problems.
