Travel alert as snow falls in some Midlands towns
"Please do NOT head out to go snow-watching in the Midlands," warns N3TC. A backlog of traffic is compounding the danger on the wet roads

Locals have been waiting with bated breath for the first signs of snowfall, but none has been reported in the Estcourt area yet.
However, areas like Nottingham Road, Impendle and the central and southern Drakensberg have seen the white, wintery visitor as well as steady rainfall.
A travel advisory has been issued by the N3TC, advising motorists to be cautious on the icy and wet roads.
“Please do NOT head out to go snow-watching in the Midlands,” warns N3TC. A backlog of traffic is compounding the danger on the wet roads.
Local relief organisation, the Al-Imdaad Foundation has teams preparing meal packs and will be stationed along the highway to assist if road closures are necessary later this evening.
Take care, and be warm.
