A Community Police Forum (CPF) is a forum of people from different communities and police representatives who meet to discuss safety problems in their communities. The objective of the CPF is to establish a partnership between police and the communities they serve to ensure effective protection of communities and a better quality of life.

Estcourt’s CPF meets once towards the end of every month to share their latest suggestions to beat crime trends, which they have discovered and discuss safety problems; among other topics of relevance.

Chairperson Reverend Kwazi Nduli, Deputy Chairperson David Allen, Secretary Fezile Hadebe and Treasurer T Shangase are the members of the Estcourt (mother body) CPF who agreed to work hand-in-hand to curb crime. The CPF mother body has eight active sub-Community Police Forums based in and around Estcourt.

The CPF has found that drug dealing and consuming, break-ins as well as politically-motivated crimes are on the rise within Estcourt.

As a result, the areas in which these illegal activities and crimes are committed, have now become ‘red-spot areas’. CPF members, including police, will focus their attention on these areas.

CPF Chairperson Reverend Kwazi Nduli would like to advise locals to refrain from any sort of politically-motivated crimes, as we approach the Local Government Elections.

“We are currently planning on launching a crime awareness campaign at ranks, schools as well as pubs. I urge the public to avoid getting involved in politically-motivated crimes, as it can easily get out of hand and result in bloodshed,” commented Rev Nduli further.
