BREAKING NEWS: Shop owner shot in CBD
A struggle occurred between the owner and the attackers when they tried to rob him.
A retailer was the victim of a robbery gone wrong this morning, when he was shot and then stabbed numerous times in his shop on Voortrekker Street.
It is alleged three men entered the shop and held the owner at gunpoint.
According to police, a struggle occurred between the owner and the attackers, which resulted in the man being shot and stabbed several times.
The man’s wife and baby were also present, and fortunately were unharmed.
The woman reported her cellphone was taken, and emergency services stabilised the victim on-scene.
Member of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Alex Liu said: “The man was taken to the private hospital for treatment. One of our members is with the police to assist the woman with a statement.”
