SCELO Ndebele is a 24-year-old farmboy who is from the deep rural area of KZN in eDumbe.
Scelo is a Mangosuthu University of Technology student but, for the love of music he has, from an early age, decided to be a DJ.
“I started DJing in 2007, playing with computer software called AutoMix,” recalls Scelo. “To me, DJing was always a passion and I will always appreciate the support that I get from my friends and family,” he adds.
Scelo, aka DJ Snandi, was recently chosen to be in the top four in the Red Bull Thre3style competition. In this competition, a DJ plays three music genres in a five minutes set.
DJ Snandi auditioned on June 10 and recently received the news that he will be going through to the finals.
“I am just an average boy from eDumbe,” declares Scelo humbly. “If I can win this competition, my life will change a lot.”
DJ Snandi has played alongside powerful DJs like DJ Cndo, okmalumkoolkat, and many other artists.
While Scelo has his heart set on DJing, this talented young man is also well aware of the importance of a good education. He was a top student in high school and obtained distinctions, which led to him being accepted at Wits University. Due to financial constraints, however, he was unable to attend.
