Reynier van Rensburg shines on debut at Time Trials
'A quiet junior athlete, ran a cracking time...'
2km Walk Ladies: Sandy Thakur finished first in a time of 18m55s (PB) followed by Anri Maree – 18m59s.
3km Walk/ Jog Ladies: Kholiwe Buthelezi – 22m55s.
3km Walk Ladies: There was a dead heat for first as Joyce Shabalala and Pinky Qwabe both finished in 27m28s.
3km Run Ladies: Jayrushka Massallia – 15m49s.
4km Run Mens: Reynier van Rensburg – 18m15s finished ahead of Zwelihle Duma – 18m26s and Sandile Lamula – 26m01s.
Sandy shattered her time to win the 2km ladies walk event ahead of Anri Maree.
Both did well to break the 19 minute barrier. Kholiwe continues to impress, keeping to a consistent time in the 3km ladies walk/jog event.
Joyce and Pinky walked the 3km ladies walk event in a good time. Jayrushka ran another fast time in the 3km ladies run event. Reynier van Rensburgh, a quiet junior athlete, ran a cracking time and a great race to win the 4km run event. He was followed by Zwelihle who wasn’t far behind, with Sandile finishing third.
Please note that there will be no Time Trials this week due to the elections.
