ELECTIONS 2016: Arbor Park voting station raises concerns
Concerned residents noticed one of the ballot boxes at the Arbor Park Recreational Centre had not been sealed and marked accordingly.
Newcastillians are exercising their democratic right by participating in the Local Government Elections today.
As voters line up at their relevant voting stations, it seemed the Arbor Park station hit a hiccup this morning.
Situated at the Arbor Park Recreational Centre, concerned residents noticed one of the ballot boxes had not been sealed and marked accordingly.
Taking to social media, the resident and other concerned voters aired their worries.
However, according to an IEC official at the station who opted to remain anonymous, the problem was resolved.
“After receiving the complaint, the box was sealed and marked accordingly by 8.20am,” he confirmed.
He further assured voters their vote had not been compromised.
“The ballot forms have not been touched in any way since voters cast their vote,” he concluded.
