Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) staff are still busy tallying up the votes cast after yesterday’s Local Government Election.

Municipal Electoral officer Vusi Magubane said this morning that IEC officials have been working non-stop since 3am yesterday.

“We are still busy, busy, busy,” commented Mr Magubane, whilst in the midst of counting the votes cast yesterday.

When asked when the preliminary results could be expected, Mr Magubane said it would be difficult to estimate at this stage as counting has slowed as fatigue kicks in.

He assures that once the information is available, it will be communicated. Keep an eye out.
