St Doms celebrates its 125th birthday
St Dominic's Academy reaches its 125-year milestone this year.
PARADISE – St Dominic’s Academy Newcastle will celebrate its 125th birthday this year.

The school will commemorate this occasion with a float procession, to depart from the Cambridge Foods parking lot at 10am on Friday. Traffic officials are on hand to safeguard the parade.
“We will travel up Scott Street, turn onto St Dominic Street and move onto the sport grounds,” explained John Douthwaite, Executive Head of St Dominic’s Academy.

At the top area of the grounds, balloons will be released, and pupils will be arranged into a human number 125.
The festivities are to continue on Saturday. Former pupils will form teams to compete in a hockey tournament, while the afternoon sees a formal tour of the school premises.
“On Saturday evening is the scholars’ dinner, and the chapel service takes place on Sunday morning.”
