Thief robs local supermarket
An undisclosed amount of cash, airtime, cigarettes and both of the customers' phones were taken
In an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday at a supermarket in Acaciavale, the perpetrator managed to get away with cash and goods.
“At around 7pm last night, a man pointing a gun at me came into the store. He then demanded cash. Two customers in the store at the time were also held at gun point as the thief demanded that they give him their cellphones,” said shop owner Mohammad Hassan.
An undisclosed amount of cash, airtime, cigarettes and both of the customers’ phones were taken.
When the police arrived, the perpetrator had already fled the scene.
