Fond farewell for retiring APS teacher
She taught at many schools, and was Head of Department and a Maths teacher at Acaciavale Primary School

Mrs SBC Asmal bade a sad farewell to the learners and educators at Acaciavale Primary School (APS) on July 31, as she has decided to retire.
Mrs Asmal has been an educator at APS for 23 years and has worked in the Department of Education for over 30 years. She is well-known to the community and educators alike as a result of a close working relationship. She taught at many schools, and was Head of Department (HOD) and a Maths teacher at APS.
The children adored Mrs Asmal, saying she was always willing to help and always took time out of her busy schedule to assist a child if they had any problems. She has been a role model to young and old alike.
Mrs Asmal says she decided to retire so that she can spend more time with her family and loved ones.
The school hosted a farewell function at the Crown Hotel recently, where those present enjoyed a scrumptious meal and shared a ‘lifetime’ of memories. The learners at the school also showed their love by hosting a small farewell programme in which they thanked Mrs Asmal for all her hard work and also let her know that she will be dearly missed by everyone at the school.
“We would like to wish Mrs Asmal a happy retirement and want to thank her for all her help and support throughout the years. We love you,” said Acaciavale Primary School principal Mrs Roy.
