THE Michaelis teachers had the privilege of attending the Proudly Primary Conference 2016 from August 4 to 6.

This conference is organized by ISASA and takes place every three years. This year, Cowan House hosted the 1200 delegates that came from all over the country to attend and the theme was Down to Earth.

The teachers have returned refreshed and filled with new enthusiasm after attending various talks and workshops. Trevor Downham, Jason Drew, Tim Goodenough and Maria Phalime were amongst some of the speakers.

A big thank you to Robin Odell, the principal of Cowan House and his team who, together with ISASA did a sterling job hosting this event. We look forward to Proudly Primary 2019!

Cricket: On Thursday, the u/11 cricket boys played a match against NRS. After a very even match we won by 10 runs. Congratulations to Mohammed Khan who scored 50 runs!

On Friday and Saturday the team attended a 7-a-side tournament in Wittenberg. They went through to play in the final against JJ van der Merwe from Ermelo. Unfortunately, they lost the match despite some excellent bowling. Well done, u/11s for winning a silver medal.
