Money is not as rewarding as saving lives

Frank assists Sharaj Ambulance Services, EMS and other crews in the district

Frank Keith Saltmarsh is a paramedic whose passion, as you would have guessed, is to save lives.

He was born and raised in Estcourt, and now works as a paramedic in Ladysmith.

Frank is well-known and popular in the community and surrounding areas as well.

At the age of 15 years old, he was a volunteer at the Fire Department and thereafter studied basic life support, rescue, advanced life saving, as well as other emergency courses.

Frank assists Sharaj Ambulance Services, EMS and other crews in the district.

Together with Sharaj, he describes them as “a team on fire”.

Frank says he always wanted to be a paramedic, even when he was a young boy. He would watch paramedics and firefighters work when he had the opportunity, and just knew this was the career for him.

Through hard work and perseverance from the time he was a volunteer at the Fire Department, he learnt a great deal and gained immense experience as the years passed.

Frank’s first priority in life is to save someone else’s life, regardless of the patient’s age, race or creed.

Not only is he a terrific paramedic and rescue personnel member, but his friendly smile and bubbly personality allow him to make friends wherever he goes.

This career decision is not likely to change any time soon for our dedicated and trustworthy paramedic.

“I love my job. Money will never be an issue for me, because I believe that saving a life is more rewarding,” he says.
