In his speech, Mayor Madlala applauded the graduates and urged traditional leaders to help and heal people

For the first time in the history of Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality, which is now Alfred Duma Municipality, they hosted a graduation of traditional leaders at the Tsakane Community Hall today (Friday).

The municipality, through the graduation, appointed a committee of qualified traditional leaders (in terms of section 58 of 2005) to represent their ilk in Ladysmith.

The event saw numerous traditional leaders filling up the hall and cheering on the graduates.

In his speech, Mayor Vincent Madlala applauded the graduates and urged traditional leaders to help and heal people. He also suggested that traditional leaders should work hand-in-hand with doctors of western medicine.

Mayor Madlala was anointed traditionally as the leaders thanked him for the support he has shown in establishing the committee.
