Cops confirm number of suspects nabbed
"The arrested suspects will appear in court soon," stated Provincial SAPS Spokeperson, Lt Colonel Thulani Zwane.
THE number of suspects arrested in Sunday’s weapons bust was initially reported as 56.
This number, according to a response to the Northern Natal Courier by the Provincial Spokesperson for the SAPS, is, in fact, much higher and it has been confirmed that the number of suspects detained following the massive seizure yesterday, is closer to a hundred.
“We can confirm that 94 suspects were arrested yesterday for illegal gathering. 40 firearms were recovered and will be sent for ballistic tests to check if they were used in any other crimes in the province. The arrested suspects will appear in court soon,” stated Provincial SAPS Spokeperson, Lt Colonel Thulani Zwane.
