KZN Dept of Education cancels all matric farewells from 1st September

LHS's matric farewell will not be affected, as it is held during school holidays

The KZN Department of Education released a circular dated August 26, effectively cancelling all matric farewells in the province from today (September 1).

This is according to Acting Head of Department Advocate Bheki Masuku, who issued circular 58 of 2016. KZN CIRCULAR NO 58 OF 2016-SUSPENSION OF MATRIC DANCE DURING THE COUNTDOWN

LHS principal Mr Pieterse stressed that the high school will hold its matric farewell, as it was always scheduled to take place during the school holidays and in no way interfered with learners’ school curriculum.

It is unclear if any schools in the area are affected by the decision.
