Old planes and pilots visit our town

All 6 planes are more than 50 years old and are thus "vintage", but they’re still in perfect working condition and look great as well

6 brave, professional pilots were seen doing stunts in their planes on Sunday afternoon after making their way to the Ladysmith airfield. The pilots, from Gauteng, were just enjoying a bit of aviation and visiting places they grew up in (or with sentimental value). Three of the pilots have been flying for 53 years now, and still they do not tire of aviation and its thrills.

Once a year, these pilots take a break, get together and set off to different places. An added bonus is that they learn new flying tactics along the way.

All 6 planes are more than 50 years old and are thus “vintage“, but they’re still in perfect working condition and look great as well. The pilots spent the night at Ladysmith Motel and flew to Newcastle (and elsewhere) on Monday morning.

“We really love the open skies and are all blessed with wonderful families who support us,” said one of the happy aviators.
