The Endumeni Civic Association is disappointed that almost two months after opening a docket following allegations of corruption in the way RDP houses were allocated in Sibongile, no investigation has been done.
Mzwakhe Sithebe of the Association said the docket was opened in Dundee on July 18.
“The docket was then sent to the Commercial Crime Unit in Newcastle.
Nothing happened.
“We were then told that the Commercial Crime Unit has sent the docket back to the Dundee detectives. This is not good enough as no investigation has been done and no justice served on those who have been allocated houses only to find that these have been given to other less-deserving people.”
Mr Sithebe said he had spoken to Brigadier Buthelezi, head of the Umzinyathi SAPS Cluster, and urged him to appoint a specialised unit to probe the housing investigation.
“We want the Hawks to do this investigation. We want to know why nothing has been done yet. Similar cases were opened in Glencoe about four years ago and to date, there has been no feedback.”
