Expect more rain this weekend

Vryheid residents revelled in the weekend’s rainy weather and will be pleased to know that there is heavy rain predicted again for this Saturday, according to the South African Weather Service.

While we can expect clearing skies and hot weather from tomorrow until Thursday with temperatures peaking at 32 degrees, this Friday is expected to be chilly with afternoon clouds. More cold weather and heavy rainfall will follow on Saturday, with light rain as clouds start clearing on Sunday.

Former chairman of the AbaQulusi Ratepayers’ Association, Doug Grewar reported up to 35mm of rainfall in Mark Street yesterday. More than 25mm of rain is expected again over this weekend.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving in the rainy weather.
