Tahlia Roelofsz leads women at Vryheid parkrun

Nine participants achieved personal bests as Vryheid parkrun celebrated milestones and strong performances on Saturday.

Vryheid parkrun delivered another morning of strong performances on Saturday, with nine participants recording personal best times and several milestones being celebrated.

Siphethelo Thabede was first across the finish line, while Tahlia Roelofsz had a particularly impressive run, finishing as the first female, first junior and fifth overall. She also recorded a personal best time.

Congratulations also went to Julia Sclanders and Lisa Steffensen, who both celebrated their 25th parkrun milestone.

There were a few new faces and visitors among Saturday’s participants, but the standout achievement was the nine new personal best times.

Joining Tahlia on the list were Tyron, Ntando, David, Zanele, Samke, Jabu, Edie and Christa.

Part of Vryheid’s sporting community

Vryheid has always had a strong sporting spirit, with residents taking to the fields, courts and courses as soon as the warmer weather arrives.

Vryheid parkrun is part of that sporting community, offering an opportunity every Saturday for people to run, walk, compete or simply enjoy the morning with friends.

Whether used as part of a training routine, a way to get active or an opportunity to recover and build fitness after an injury, parkrun welcomes participants of all abilities.

There is no pressure to be the fastest or to achieve a particular time. The focus is on taking part, celebrating milestones and enjoying the experience.

All participants need to bring along their barcode and make the most of their Saturday morning.
