Judy Sayed: her attitude and passion has again made Dundee Hospital proud

"Perseverance is the mother of success." Being a passionate people's person, Judy is certainly in the right job!

Judy Sayed is a lady whose passion for her work as Dundee Hospital care manager has seen her win top awards for service excellence. She has just been nominated as a finalist in the 14th annual National Centre for Public Service Innovation Awards.
This nomination comes after Judy won a District Excellence Award. This is an individual award for the best manager/leader of the year.
But that’s not all. She also took home a certificate of commendation at the Premier’s Service Excellence Awards.
Sbonelo Dube, Dundee Hospital public relations officer, described Judy as a ‘dedicated and committed employee at Dundee Hospital and with the Department of Health; this indeed is a benchmark to build on the future.’
“Dundee Hospital wishes her all the best and may she continue to put Dundee Hospital on the map. The sky is the limit.”

The Health Department knows her for encouraging other Hospital Case Managers by passing on her skills – a trait appreciated.

Born in 1961, Judy started her nursing career as a nursing assistant at Northdale Provincial Hospital in Pietermaritzburg in 1979.
In 1984, she resigned for personal reasons and moved to Dundee where she started work at the hospital in 1994 as a nursing assistant.
From there, Judy progressed to enrolled nurse and registered nurse. “It was not easy but very worthwhile. There were many challenges but, by the grace of God, I overcame these. I love my job and am passionate about my profession,” she says. The Health Department knows her for encouraging other Hospital Case Managers by passing on her skills – a trait appreciated.
Judy has been happily divorced since 1979 and is the mother of three children. Her daughter, Tasneem Nair, is also a professional nurse at Dundee Hospital.
Her two sons are Shanawaaz and Nadeem and she is a proud granny to five granddaughters and one grandson.
She describes herself as a church warrior and a dedicated mother and granny.
“I owe so much to my Heavenly Father and the guidance of my spiritual parents, Mr and Mrs Henry Rotol, my family, my friends and the management of Dundee Hospital who saw my potential and encouraged me to go further.
