The last photos taken of eight-year-old boys, Junior Ramogaga, Malibongwe Mfundo Dlamini, and Sifiso Sangweni before they drowned at Paddadam yesterday show them happily splashing about in the water.
A short while later rescue workers were searching for their bodies in the dam.
Junior Ramogaga’s desk and chair in a Grade 2 classroom at New Republic School stood empty today. On his desk is an art project that he will never have the opportunity to complete.
His teacher, Wilna van Heerden, tearfully described him as a lively child who was always smiling.
