Pay increase: Domestic workers get early Christmas present

Wage increase for domestic workers, gardeners and drivers

From December 1, 2016, those employing domestic workers will have to pay them more. As Alfred Duma Municipality is a sector B municipal area, the following increases will be in effect:

Domestic hourly rate: R11.31

Domestic weekly rate: R508.93

Domestic monthly rate: R2205.17

And for those who work less than 27 hours a week:

Domestic hourly rate: R13.57

Domestic weekly rate: R360.54

Domestic monthly rate: R1562.12

The increase comes into effect from midnight, November 30.
