Update: Businesses still without power
One of the businesses without electricity has evidently suffered close to R80,000 in damages regarding stock they had in freezers that has gone bad

Businesses in Illing Road have been without electricity for close to 17 hours now.
This has led to those businesses without generators not being able to open their doors today, costing them money, especially if they sell perishable items. Even those with generators are out of pocket for the petrol to keep the generator running.
“I am very disappointed with the municipality; they have no communication skills. This is a problem that has persisted for the past six to eight months. The municipality does not solve problems permanently. Instead, they just fix them temporarily and this leads us to ask: What are they doing with our money? They have no money for the infrastructure in this town,” said a local businessman who has been left in the dark.

Electricians are out trying to fix the problem.
We are waiting for a response from the municipality and will update this story as soon as we have more information.
