‘Mighty’Joe rocks at Time Trials

The highlight of the day was the men's 8km race which saw a thrilling finish between 'Mighty' Joe and Bongani.

2km Walk Ladies: Vasanthee Naicker finished first – 16m23s. There was a dead heat for second between Lani van der Mescht, Ragani (PB), Shaida (PB), and ‘Baby’ Reya (PB) Soobramoney – 19m21s. There was also a dead heat for third between Majida Ayob and Nadia Gaffely – 27m14s.
2km Walk/ Jog Ladies: Anneline Pillay – 14m45s (PB) finished first with Yogi Murugan – 18m29s in second.
2km Walk Men: There was a dead heat between Pieter Bester and Yogan Soobramoney (PB) for first in a time of 19m21s.
2km Run Boys: Suheshan Soobramoney – 11m08s (PB).
2km Walk/Jog Men: Preyen Murugan -17m49s.
3km Walk Ladies: Thobeka Mbatha – 23m57s.
3km Walk/Jog Ladies: Kholiwe Buthelezi – 20m02s.
3km Run Girls: Phoebe Kalman -17m51s.
3km Run Ladies: Jayrushka Massallia – 16m27s finished ahead of Thobeka Phungula – 17m17s.
8km Run Mens: ‘Mighty’ Joe Khumalo – 29m03s (PB) edged out Bongani Sabelo – 29m05s. Third was Eric Nelson – 30m51s and fourth was Petrus Mavuso – 33m39s.
Time Trials welcomes all new athletes and congratulates the athletes who set new personal bests (PB).
The highlight of the day was the men’s 8km race which saw a thrilling finish between ‘Mighty’ Joe and Bongani. ‘Mighty’ Joe pulled away on the finishing straight to set himself a new PB and claim first place. Please note that Time Trials takes place every Wednesday at 17:15 in front of Dundee Junior School on excelsior Lane. It is open to the public, young and old and is free.
