Des takes no bowling prisoners
..looking forward to playing in the national tournament in Bloemfontein in May next year.
Local Correctional Services officer, Des Johnson, is taking no prisoners when it comes to his chosen sport, bowls.
Des has put the area on the map after he was selected to be part of a team of eight to represent KZN at the Correctional Services Lawn Bowls Nationals held in George from November 7-11.
Des took home a bronze in the men’s 2 bowls pairs and then was honoured to have been selected to represent SA Correctional Services four bowls team at the International Fire Games in Canada.
Sadly, these games were postponed due to strikes in Canada but Des is looking forward to playing in the national tournament in Bloemfontein in May next year.
“I want to thank all those who sponsored me so I could travel to George with the team. Their generosity and support is appreciated,” Des told the Courier.
