BREAKING NEWS: Kidnapping labelled a hoax

A teenage girl was reported missing yesterday.

NEWCASTLE – Social media erupted after a teenage girl was reportedly kidnapped from McDonald’s this weekend.

“I went to McDonald’s with some friends on Saturday just after 5pm, when a man approached us and asked if we had seen anything strange,” said Jason Liu, who reported the incident on a local Facebook page.

Mr Liu said the man claimed his daughter was kidnapped from the parking lot.

“He said his daughter was seen talking to men in a black Golf 5 before she went missing.”

Concerned, Mr Liu took to social media to alert the community.

However, further investigation revealed the teenager had not actually disappeared.

A source claimed she climbed into the vehicle with the men, and went home shortly after her family began looking for her.

“She is safe,” the source confirmed.
