New year, new spirits, new time trials

The hot weather took a toll on the walkers and runners and - not to be beaten - they produced some good results.

2km walk males: The lone male walker, Yogan Soobramoney, finished in a time of 19 min 51 secs.
2km walk females:
It was a close call as Sunitha Rajkumar, 19 min 52 secs, walked ahead of Ragini Soobramoney, 19 min 53 secs.
2km walk / jog:
Vasanthee Naicker and Yogishree Murugan finished in a time of 16 min 47 secs, followed by Lani van der Mescht, 17 min 23 secs and Luzanne van der Mescht, 21 min 41 secs.
4km run:
The 4km run was won by Petros Mavuso, 17 min 04 secs. He was followed by Zwelihle Duma, 20 min 9 secs. Reggie Nkosi finished third in 21 min 2 secs.
8km run:
The 8km run was dominated by Thokozani Phungula, 29 min 4 secs.
He was followed by Bongani Sabelo, 29 min 15 secs; third was Joe Khumalo, 31 min 51 secs; fourth was Lindani Sangweni, 34 min 22 secs; fifth was Sanele, 36 min 51 secs; sixth was Veli Mchunu, 39 min 18 secs. The race was completed by Thulani Sibiya in a time of 46 min 25 secs.
